First Aniversary of Good, Better, Best Love

Today is the first anniversary of this blog.  I post an article every Friday.  Today I have two posts.  This first one is to share what have been the ten most popular articles.  Keep in mind, this is based on views by article of specific articles, and there is no way to capture how many times someone may have viewed an article by scrolling down on the home page.  There are usually the ten most recent articles available on the home page.

Here are the top ten articles, with the most popular listed first at the top. Each article title is a link to that article.  I include a brief description of each.

There Are Three Kinds of Lies – by far, this is the most popular article.  I take a well known quote by Mark Twain on lies, and improve on it based on personal observation.

Real Thanksgiving, Better Love – this is my first article.  I discuss action of thanks, and today’s second post above reviews the subject.

Give Light – second chapter – here I talk about giving light, emotional vampires, and an experience in a prison in Nicaragua.

Give Light – Always Faithful  – this article explains the motto on two Spanish medallions from 1775 and 1874, which also contain the motto of the city of Sevilla (they have not abandoned me).

Actions Speak Louder Than Words – I shared some refranes or adages on the subject, as well as an experience related to my wife’s method versus madness.

The Key and the Secret to Good Love – here is a youtube video clip of a news story on our 1983 seventh anniversary surprise, and discussion of taking two steps forward for every step back and the secret of forgiveness.

Origins of Don Juan / Time Flies – here is some of the history of the Don Juan legend, with two paintings from Sevilla and part of a mausoleum from Metz, France that all indicate that death comes in the blink of an eye, death is no respecter of people, and time flies.

The debate between the Greek and the Roman – this is one of my favorite stories from the Book of Good Love, Spanish poetry from 1334.  It contains a message that is true for all of us in the 21st century, including in the interpretation of the intent of the Book of Good Love:  people tend to find and see what they expect.

The Sling Was an Important Weapon in Ancient Times – I shared some of the history of the sling, with a youtube video of the History Channel’s demonstration that David could indeed have killed Goliath. This was done with a champion modern day Spanish slinger.

Gredler’s Love Line – I shared Sternberg’s love triangle that defines the three parts of love as passion, intimacy, and commitment, to which I added humor, honesty, and forgiveness.  And then we have to work to move to the right on the love line.

About Mark Gredler

I want to move from Good Love to Better Love, share it, and share the Best Love of God. I like ancient and medieval history, especially of Spain. I like photographing Spanish fiestas, and visiting Romanesque churches, from the 11th to 13th centuries. I enjoy traveling, seeing new places, meeting new friends, taking photographs of that, and want to write more about it all.
